Who knew a dog park could become the most romantic place in the world. Ralph and Carol would tell you it is.
Taking a new path during a stroll in the park leads to something unexpected in Ralph’s humdrum life – the discovery of the aloof but irresistible Carol. Using his endless humour and boyish charm, Ralph a long time widower, is determined to win Carol’s affection.
And he slowly starts to succeed, but not without much resistance from Carol and then the constant interference of another woman. As time passes, Carol can’t help herself. She begins to allow the exuberance of Ralph’s love, laughter, and music into her heart. And then she finds the courage to make the most extraordinary plan that not even the hopelessly romantic Ralph could have imagined.
But the other woman returns with one last surprise . . .
Anne & Ted and their supporters are donating this production. All proceeds will help fight cancer locally. Earnings will come from ticket sales, donors, sponsors, raffle, and concession sales, and then will be directed locally to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation to help buy equipment for the detection and diagnosis of Cancer right here in Prince George.
Bill is thrilled to be back in Prince George where he has performed many times with Theatre North West. Those past productions include Brindley Town, Ivor Johnson’s Neighbours, Dancock’s Dance, The Kite, Joyful Noise, and the 1998 and 2009 productions of a Christmas Carol where he played the role of Scrooge. He's a 28 yr. member of the Shaw Festival Acting Ensemble in Niagara-on-the-Lake. He spent 3 seasons with the Stratford Festival and has worked at many theatres across Canada including Theatre Calgary, The Globe Theatre in Regina, Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Persephone Theatre in Saskatoon, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre in Winnipeg, The Grand Theatre in London Ont., The National Arts Centre in Montreal, Theatre New Brunswick, and Neptune Theatre in Halifax. Bill also worked at BeMe Theatre of Munich, Germany. He is a graduate of Bishop's University and the National Theatre School of Canada.
Jacques looks forward to singing the role of The Young Man in Miracle Theatre’s production of The Last Romance. Acadian tenor Jacques Arsenault began his musical career as a virtuoso accordionist before discovering his vocal talents, first as a baritone. He obtained his Master of Music from the University of Prince Edward Island, with further studies at the Franz-Schubert-Institut in Austria. Following his transition to tenor, Jacques made his professional debut as Pritschitsch in Edmonton Opera’s The Merry Widow. Jacques joined the cast as Kaspar in Opera Nuova’s production of Amahl and the Night Visitors, and starred as Archie in Archiebaldo Cowtown Opera’s raunchy operatic cabaret about the tangled romantic life of the famous comic book character. In the summer of 2016, Jacques displayed his amazing step-dancing skills, portraying several roles in The Bells of Baddeck in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. This charming music-drama was created by Lorna MacDonald with music by Dean Burry, based on the life of Alexander Graham Bell.
Suzanne is delighted to return to Prince George to work on this very important project having performed in Brighton Beach Memoirs at Theatre North West several years ago. She has worked as an actor for almost forty years, appearing in theatres across Canada, from the Arts Club theatre in Vancouver to the Neptune in Halifax and many regional theatres in between. Most recently, she appeared in the runaway hit, Comfort Cottages with the Western Gold Theatre Company in Vancouver and before that, she performed the role of Aaronow in the all female production of Glengarry Glen Ross for Classic Chic Productions. Suzanne has appeared in film and television; she has received a Jessie award for outstanding actress (Danny and the Deep Blue Sea), is the co-founder of the theatre company Angry Actors Co-op and wrote a play Poor, which enjoyed two productions, one in St Catharines directed by Karen Wood.
Karen is very happy to be back in Prince George. Previously Karen appeared at Theatre North West in The Kite and Kitchen Witches. Other career highlights include 10 seasons with The Shaw Festival and 8 seasons with The Stratford Festival. Karen has also played on Broadway, at the Old Vic in London, England and toured Canada and the USA with Brian Macdonald’s famous production of The Mikado. Other theatre credits include: director of Poor by Suzanne Ristic – Essential Theatre Collective; Ladies’ Foursome – Theatre Aquarius; All Shook Up – Drayton Entertainment/Globe Theatre/Stage West; Addams Family – Neptune Theatre; James and the Giant Peach - Young People’s Theatre; George F. Walker’s The Ravine – Lyundesfarne Theatre Projects; Doubt - Rose Theatre; Mary Poppins, See How They Run, Too Many Cooks, Perfect Wedding - Drayton Entertainment. Karen has also taught drama at Sheridan College, the Randolph Academy of Performing Arts and at the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy.
Sandra's excited to be back in Prince George, and working on another show with Miracle Theatre! Select previous credits include last year’s production of Miracle on South Division Street (Miracle Project in Prince George) A Streetcar Named Desire (Spirit Fire Theatre), Animal Crackers, Waiting for Godot (Blue Bridge Theatre), Onegin and One Man, Two Guvnors (Arts Club), Home is a Beautiful Word, Venus in Fur (Belfry Theatre), the Gargantuan workshop with Swallow-a-Bicycle in the summer of 2015, as well as long-time favorite: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (Broadway West). She graduated from the University of Victoria's Theatre Production and Management program in the spring of 2014, and spent five summers as the Assistant Festival Director for the Calgary Fringe Festival (2011-15); in 2015, she was the Festival Director for the inaugural Lethbridge Fringe Festival.
